Briefing for Graduation Project was yesterday. AND OMG PANIC.
Currently trying to think up of idea’s to create a brief for my graduation one project that is relevant to the criteria and which i will also enjoy. Wanting to aim to learn new skills and define what sort of designer i am.
Horror films keeps popping up in my mind, looking at the old classic 1930s-1950s black and white horror films, but where i’m going to go with that idea i have no idea.
Also wanting to try and tie it in with my dissertation with the theme of street art.
Ive got alot of thinking to do. Hopefully todays session will help with some of my decisions.
Here are the images that i have collected to my thoughts of what the future is going to be. I know that they are very much out there for ideas that is what is going to happen to the future. But i was once told that its best to get your stupid and outrageous ideas out the way to get you to really think what other ideas i could use and focus on to a final idea.
For are first task we have been told to bring photos of what the future means to us or what we thinking is going to be the future. I can see myself having so “out there ideas” for what i think is the future because as soon as i think of the future, ‘back to the future’ is the first thought that comes to my head with the flying cars and lighting hitting clock towers.

We have been brief with are new project and it combining stamps and the world of the future. Which is looking at energy and all different sources in that area and how to put them themes into stamps.
3rd and Final YEAR!
Today went to the Kid Acne Exhibit which is been held at the Sheffield’s Millennium Galleries. This is been by far one of the best exhibits ive been to for ages. Seeing all the different style of work from his sketchbooks to his photography of his work around the city. Love that you can see his style develop though his work, where he has kept to a style though out. My favourite was the spray can’s and seeing into sketchbooks. I has a fascination for seeing inside artist sketchbook to see how there develop and get there idea’s down. Think that shows what sort of artist there are.
Truely inspiring! If you from near sheffield and love design go and see it.
It was just the boost i need before i start university.

Here is the second test with the facial expression, with the toned down colours i feel makes more of the illustration of the face stand out more then the colour background from the first test, where it was all about colour. I do like these test but i don’t feel like they stand out as much of the first test of expressions but these expression look more like a person face with the more of the pastel tones colours to the face, so maybe if i develop these further to see how they work in both sets.
I have decided to print each of the ideas to see how they would look printed. i thought of the idea of mix and matching them but i still like the idea of them being in a set. From printing them both first test and second test still need some developing in photoshop, where there is little marking that i want to change or change the places of the full image.
From these photography’s i favour toward the second test ones because there have a similarity to the face with the dull colours but i still like how the first test have a bold statement with the bring colours and showing the emotions.
So now i need to put these 2 tests into photoshop and touch up different parts and decided which set i want to use from my final postcards.

This is the first test off both of the colour background and illustrated outline put together. Im pleased with how this first test has turned out, it really being the facial expressions to life, defining the lines in the colour background shows the emotion. Now i want to try doing another test with the colour background and illustrated lines but not with so much of a bold colour for the background, so maybe it will give more of an natural tone to the faces, like pastel colours.
